A beckoning Cat

Do you know a figure of "Maneki Neko" (a beckoning cat)? In Japan, people say that a bekoning cat attracts and invites a lot of customers and money from down the ages. You know, he holds a big "koban" (a oval Japanese gold coin of the Edo period) with his left hand. Therefore, many of Japnanese traditional shops and food stands puts various styles of "Maneki Neko" in conspicuous places where customers can see them every day.

Above photo is a figure of gold "Maneki Neko" on my cupboard. Can he bring in some kind of profits to our family?
